ACT sign-up is YOUR responsibility. It is easiest to register online.
Go to www.actstudent.org to register for the ACT and to find information about test dates, registration deadlines, etc. Make a note of the password information associated with your account, as you will need it to access practice tests, score reports, etc. To become familiar with the ACT testing format, work through free practice tests online at websites such as www.actstudent.org, www.get2college.org, and www.firstregional.org.
Test fee waivers: If you receive free or reduced school lunch, you can request up to two waivers for ACT fees, to be used during your junior or senior years of high school. Request a "test fee waiver" letter from the school cafeteria and show your Social Security card to the school ACT Coordinator. Please allow at least two days before the registration deadline when requesting a fee waiver.
When you register for the ACT, go ahead and have your scores reported to as many colleges as you can - whether or not you plan to apply for admission to that school - if there is the slightest possibility you may apply for admission there. This can save you money later in score reporting fees.
