East Tallahatchie School District

The East Tallahatchie School District is committed to supporting student achievement through fair and meaningful assessments. State and district assessments help us measure academic growth, guide instruction, and ensure accountability across all schools.

Assessment Overview

  • MAAP (Mississippi Academic Assessment Program): Administered in grades 3–8 and high school courses such as Algebra I, English II, Biology, and U.S. History.
  • Kindergarten Readiness Assessment: Measures foundational literacy skills at the start and end of kindergarten.
  • English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT): Evaluates progress for English Learners.
  • ACT and ACT WorkKeys: Given to high school juniors to measure college and career readiness.
  • District Benchmark Assessments: Used periodically to track progress and inform instruction.

Test Schedules and Assessment Windows

Detailed test schedules and assessment windows will be posted each semester to help families plan ahead. Please check this page regularly for updates or contact your child’s school for specific testing dates.

Preparing for Assessments

  • Ensure students get adequate rest and a healthy breakfast on test days.
  • Encourage a positive attitude toward testing.
  • Review study materials or practice tests provided by teachers.
  • Make sure Chromebooks or other testing devices are fully charged, if applicable.

Accessing Student Results

Assessment results are shared with parents once they are available. Families will receive score reports directly from their child’s school, along with information to help interpret results and support continued learning at home.
